1 Dead In Collision Involving Amtrak Train Near Dixon

 

 

One person died when an Amtrak train and an occupied vehicle collided in unincorporated Solano County near Dixon this afternoon.

The Capitol Corridor Amtrak train was carrying 65 passengers from San Jose to Sacramento when the incident occurred, Amtrak spokesperson Kimberly Woods said.

Due to an earlier vehicle strike in Dixon (east of the Fairfield/Vacaville Station) that has closed both sets of tracks, the Capitol Corridor is experiencing significant delays. Train 543 is holding at the Davis Station, and Trains 534 and 536 are holding at the Fairfield/Vacaville Station. Train 545 out of Sacramento was cancelled and passengers will take Train 547 instead. We recommend if you are travelling through this area that you take alternate transportation. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE: Delays Due to Vehicle Strike

 

 

Eastbound trains 534, 536, 538, 540, and 542 and Westbound Train 543 are back on the move, after earlier delays caused by a vehicle strike east of the Fairfield/Vacaville Station. Passengers should expect residual delays. Expected delays are as follows:

- Train 534: 2hr, 18min
- Train 536: 1hr, 23min
- Train 538: 1hr, 12min
- Train 540: 43min
- Train 542: 14min
- Train 543: 2hr, 39min
