Governor Phil Murphy nominated Kevin S. Corbett to serve as the executive director of NJ Transit.

Corbett currently serves as VP of Cross Services at global transportation and infrastructure company, AECOM. At AECOM, Corbett has had an oversight role on critical projects including Amtrak’s Gateway Project, the first phase of New York City’s Second Avenue Subway project, work on New York Penn Station, and PATH restoration after Superstorm Sandy.

The soon-to-be leader of NJ Transit admitted Tuesday that the failing system leaves riders feeling as stranded as soldiers “at Dunkirk.”

 

Kevin Corbett, who was named executive director of the agency, said he knows how frustrating the railway is — because he commuted by train from Mendham this past summer.
