Lightning: I fiddled with your entry a bit. I arbitrarily moved you from train 7 to train 27 at Spokane. I then assigned you to a fictitious bus "9999" from Portland to Seattle using the Cascades mileage (187, as you stated). Sounds like a "challenging" trip on the Builder.
Bill: Yes, it was. Trains 141 and 29 arrived at destinations within 15 minutes of the advertised. 7 arrived in Minot exactly on time. Then....a two-hour wait while the replacement crew got their federally mandated rest. Not Amtrak's fault, but the trip cascaded downhill from there. Arrived in SPK about four hours late. But for the wildfires, 7 would have taken the normal routing and arrived in Seattle maybe three hours late. Amtrak also not responsible for wildfires. I only wish they could have had the buses in VAN, which would have gotten us into Seattle at least an hour earlier. As it is, we arrived in Seattle a little after 5 PM, six and a half hours late. At least I got some "rare mileage" on the old SPS scenic mainline on the north bank of the Columbia River.
