Memorial Day Holiday Service Plan

The Kansas City Southern Railway Company will reduce forces in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, 2015. Through train service will continue as usual over the weekend preceding Memorial Day.

 

Service requests for this day should be emailed to Customer Solutions by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8th, 2015. Please note that requests submitted are not a guarantee of service on these days. Once all requests are received, the local operation will attempt to secure resources to perform service. If no request is submitted, it will be understood that no service is needed.

BNSF Carload 2015 Memorial Day Operating Plan

HOLIDAY OBSERVANCE
This year, the Memorial Day holiday falls on Monday, May 25.

TRAIN SERVICE
BNSF’s Carload 2015 Memorial Day operating plan will remain focused on meeting customers’ expectations while matching operations to any reductions in traffic volumes.

During the holiday period, carload and local terminal train service will operate according to normal schedules, with yard support sized to reflect specific customer holiday requirements.

INTERLINE TRAFFIC
Delays may occur on interline traffic if connecting carriers have reduced operations for the holiday.

 

 

This is representative of BNSF planned oeprations over the holiday weekend.  Additional details for each business unit may be found on the BNSF Customer Notifications site.

Memorial Day Holiday Operating Plan

Union Pacific plans to have modified operations for Memorial Day. This includes operations on Monday, May 25, 2015, through Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

 

Between 7 a.m. on Monday, May 25 and 6:59 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, manifest trains will be held at origin. Trains enroute will operate to destination. Some yard and local operations may be curtailed based on traffic levels and customer needs. Critical customer-specific switching requests will be protected.

Interchange operations will be coordinated as required with connecting railroads at all locations.

 

If your facility requires service during the holiday, please open a Service Issue on our website prior to close of business on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. You may also contact Customer Service at 1-800-272-8777 to have them open a Service Issue on your behalf. Feedback will be provided regarding the availability of service over the Memorial Day holiday.

 

This operating plan is subject to change in the event of a major service interruption or weather event. Thank you for your cooperation. On behalf of all of the employees of Union Pacific, we would like to wish you a safe and happy holiday.
