Amtrak to open stop in Marks, connect Memphis to Jackson
Millions of dollars are being invested in the Magnolia State and some of it is on track to help one part of the Mid-South.
Amtrak has announced it will be building a stop in Marks, Mississippi.
This wonderful Emmy-worthy story is here. What the headline and article text don't tell you is that the City of New Orleans, the only train that would stop at a new Marks station, already connects Memphis to Jackson. The stop will do nothing to connect those cities again. Yes one will be able to travel to either Memphis or Jackson, or even Chicago or New Orleans from there. But the train already connects those cities. Way to do the research!
