Opinion in New Hampshire Journal, 3/14/22:

Remote Work Makes Commuter Rail Even Less Viable

A commuter rail line from New Hampshire to Boston would need increasing taxpayer subsidies to serve a shrinking number of riders, recent data on transit ridership and commuting patterns suggest.

Also posted in Miscellaneous forum due to mention of MBTA issues.

From Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy,  8/2/22:

New Hampshires chosen commuter rail partner has a dismal safety record

If you planned to start a new enterprise and hire someone to run it, youd probably avoid applicants who racked up disastrous safety records and massive financial deficits on their way to being investigated and placed under remedial safety orders by the feds.

Op-Ed in St. Anselm Crier, Manchester, NH, 10/20/22:

The Commuter Rail should extend its Boston lines into New Hampshire

For New Hampshire residents, there are two main ways to travel to Boston; buses from Manchester, Concord, or Londonderry, or driving their own cars. Both options can be time-consuming, expensive, and impractical, especially for daily commutes.

MBTA should extend T to Manchester, report says

A Boston-based advocacy group has issued a report that makes the case for transforming part of the Bay State’s commuter rail service into a regional network that would be electrified, have frequent all-day service and extend to Manchester, New Hampshire.

This is the story.
