So far it is looking typical of Spring temperature-wise, but unfortunately rain is highly likely for Sunday.

Friday:  For our afternoon round trip to Foxboro, there is a 0% chance of precipitation, mid-50's, and light wind.

Saturday:   In Boston, expect temperatures in the low to mid- 50's all day, from our Readville round trip to our departure from Boston for Maine.     The weather in Brunswick and Freeport will be a high of 53 and a low of 42, but a chance of rain increases later in the day.  Bring an umbrella.

Sunday:   Almost certain to be raining Sunday morning, but we could get lucky between storms.   95% chance of rain all day.  A high of 48 degrees, but figure we will be leaving town early in the morning long before it gets to that point.  So plan on a cold, wet morning for the short walk from the hotel to the train platform.    Sunday in Boston, the chance of rain diminishes the later in the day it gets, but it's still possible.   The hourly forecasts are not out yet but I'll post more when they do come up.  Low in Boston Sunday night in the mid-40's.

Monday:   Chance of rain is 40% with a high of 57 (by which time most of us likely may be out of town), so plan on the upper 40's to low 50's for the morning Foxboro round trip.

The weather in Brunswick and Freeport will be a high of 53 and a low of 42, but a chance of rain increases later in the day.  Bring an umbrella.

Update on Saturday:     Brunswick & Freeport between 3 and 6 PM, the Weather Channel now shows that while it will be mostly cloudy, the chance of rain is 2% or less.  Roughly 50 degrees in that afternoon period.  Much better news.

Overnight and into Sunday, there will be more on that tomorrow.

Yes Sunday is now coming into clarity..   But the skies won't be clear.

Sunday morning in Freeport, where we walk from hotel to train platform, sees temperatures in the low 40's  between 7 and 8 AM,  and a chance of precipitation 24% or less (so about 1 in 4 chance we get rain).  We'll see it get worse down the line through Portland and New Hampshire.

Around 10:30 AM, our scheduled bustitution arrival into Boston North Station, we're looking at 50 degrees but almost a certain chance of rain, in the 90%+ range. It will not be pretty.  That is not to say it will rain all day, but we may get scattered showers all day.

During the Sunday 1:30 - 2 PM half hour or so in Wachusett ( Fitchburg), it will be  49 degrees, 80% chance of rain.  Umbrella and stay close to the train.  I don't think there is much out there to walk to except a parking lot.

Now looking at the Sunday 4 PM - 5:30 period when we should be riding the Green Line Extension, it will be around 50-51 degrees with the chance of rain still higher than 50% but slowly dwindling until 9 PM when the chance goes below 50-50.   Some of you will be leaving Boston in that time frame, and I'll be here one more day Monday, whose hourly conditions are too early to break down.  I'll find those out on Saturday late in the day once I get my computer to a place it won't get wet.

No rain encountered Saturday afternoon in Brunswick nor Freeport.   Sun was out during our 2 hours in Brunswick.

Monday for those still in Boston, it should be in the low 50's with a small chance of rain and winds minimal.
