Claremont residents to trains: Stop blowing your horns (Video)
CLAREMONT >> Jackie Jeffress has lived near the railroad tracks for 18 years and never had to worry about the trains once her hearing aids were out.
But in recent months, even without her hearing aids, Jeffress has been unable to sleep soundly.
Colin Robins, who for four years has resided near First Street and Mills Avenue, began to notice a disruption in his sleep — typically starting at 4:30 a.m., when the volume of the train noise increases dramatically.

On Tuesday night, the City Council took a step in what may be a lengthy endeavor to address the racket and the possibility of designating Claremont a quiet zone.
