While we have no non-Amtrak trains to ride in San Antonio, we can discuss what took place there between arrival Monday night, through our "free day" on Tuesday, July 17th, and ending with our departure from there very early Wednesday morning, July 18th.

San Antonio was "off" time as we got to be tourists for a day. Much of the day was spent on foot or on boats in the Riverwalk area. I also visited the Tower of the Americas, and from the top I got to see the very delayed Texas Eagle #22(17), which Steve & Mike were on, back out of the station. The day ended with dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse.
