Wasn't the existing Blue Line also built upon ROW of an original Pacific Electric trolley route?Great News, and one more step forward to bringing back at least some of the once great Pacific Electric network.

FTA issues record of decision for Crenshaw/LAX light-rail project
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently issued a record of decision for the Crenshaw/Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) light-rail project based on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (LACMTA) Final Environmental Impact State and Report (EIS/EIR).

Metro Moves Closer to Connecting Light Rail to LAX
The Federal Transit Administration's final approval to build a light rail along Crenshaw Boulevard to LAX, means Culver City residents can take the Expo from downtown to the airport.

The low-interest loan will help pay for construction of the Crenshaw Corridor light-rail line. It will consist of 8.5 miles of track linking the Expo Line to the Green line.

MoreLos Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (LACMTA) administrative staff has recommended that a $1.3 billion contract be awarded to Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors to build the 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX light-rail line.

Here is the story.The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (LACMTA) board yesterday approved a $1.3 billion design/build contract to Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors to build the Crenshaw/LAX light-rail project.

Metro Board approves contract for firm to build Crenshaw/LAX Line
The Metro Board has unanimously voted to approve a $1,272,632,356 contract to Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors for the final design and construction of the 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX Line light rail line.
