UPDATED - Mask Wearing on Public Transportation

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has rescinded the new Security Directives requiring mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs that were scheduled to take effect today, April 19. Effective immediately, masks are now optional on all Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) buses, trains, and Mobility vehicles.

MARC Train - Update to Frederick and Monocacy passengers, Meet the MARC shuttle service

Frederick TransIT has notified MARC that, effective July 1, 2022 they will be resuming the Meet the MARC shuttle for train 874. The updated Meet the MARC schedule is below and will operate from July 1 until further notice.

In the evening, Meet the MARC shuttle service to Frederick and Monocacy will meet Trains 875 and 879 (4:25pm and 5:40pm departures from Washington) at Point of Rocks. These will be the only two trains with Meet the MARC shuttle service. There will be no shuttle service for any other evening train. Direct rail service to Monocacy and Frederick continues to be available on Trains 891, 893, and 895 (3:45pm, 5:20pm and 6:40pm departures from Washington).

In the morning, Meet the MARC shuttle buses will meet Train 874 (6:19am departure) and Train 878 (7:17am departure) at Point of Rocks, but will not serve Train 876 (6:50am departure). Passengers can connect from Frederick TransIT to MARC using the TransIT #65 connector via the Frederick station to Trains 892 and 894 (6:05am and 7:10am departures from Frederick).

  MDDOT MTA: Light Rail to resume regular weekday service starting April 24    

 

 

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) announced the Light Rail will be resuming its regular weekday service starting Monday, April 24.
