VRE Train Talk Alert, 9/12/18 3:03 pm 9/12/18:

Service Update for Thursday, September 13th and Friday, September 14th

Thursday, September 13th

AM Regular Service

PM Regular Service with the following modifications:

Manassas Line Trains 329 and 331 will originate from L'Enfant at the scheduled L'Enfant time (4:33 pm and 5:13 pm respectively). Passengers may utilize Fredericksburg Line trains 307 and 309 (departs Union Station at 4:10 pm and 4:40 pm) to get to L'Enfant.

Manassas Line train 336 (departs Broad Run at 2:45 pm) will terminate at Alexandria.

Manassas Line Train 338 (departs Broad Run at 5:10 pm) will terminate at Alexandria.

Manassas Line Train 337 will originate from Alexandria.

Fredericksburg Line Train 315 will depart Union Station at 6:50 pm. Manassas Line passengers may utilize 315 for transportation to Alexandria to then transfer to 337 (know as the Alexandria Shuffle.)

Friday, September 14th

The current plan is to operate on an "S" schedule. Only trains marked with an "S" on the schedule will operate.

Comment:  I'm not sure why VRE is curtailing service.  Forcasts over the past 24 hours indicate little, if any, impact in the DC area from Florence until next week when we expect it be primarily a rain event.  -Ross

VRE Train Talk Alert, 5:45 am 9/13/18:

This is a reminder regarding evening VRE service changes due to Amtrak Union Station capacity issues.

This is a reminder regarding evening VRE service changes due to Amtrak Union Station capacity issues (https://content.govd...lletins/20ccc0b).

Because Amtrak trains that normally would operate through the southern Virginia/North Carolina region have been cancelled due to Hurricane Florence, the equipment for those trains that is being stored at Union Station has affected VRE’s ability to access some of the tracks we normally use.

Manassas trains 329 and 331 will originate out of L’Enfant, and Manassas train 337 will originate from Alexandria this evening. An “S” schedule will be in effect for Friday (only the trains marked with an “S” on our schedule will operate).

Amtrak cross-honor trains 66, 67, 95, 125, 171, 93, and 85 will be cancelled today and tomorrow. Additional cross-honor trains 86, 174, 84 176 and 94 will be cancelled on Friday.
