New Orleans Public Belt officials have not yet been able to assess damages and the operational condition of the railroad, according to the railroad's General Manager Jim Bridger.

Meanwhile, Bridger noted that each employee is being granted a $5,000 relief check. For those who take advantage of the direct-deposit payroll program, the money has already been entered into their accounts. Bridger indicated the railroad is still trying to find mailing addresses for just a few employees who have not yet received the assistance payment.
