Take Amtrak to Earth Day Festivities in Santa Barbara
Come to event car free and win prizes

SANTA BARBARA – Take Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner or Coast Starlight to the Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Alameda Park in downtown Santa Barbara. Festival attendees who arrive car free can register to win a number of prizes, including roundtrip tickets on Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner, a weekend getaway on the Pacific Surfliner to San Luis Obispo, and the Grand Prize: round-trip first class tickets for two from Santa Barbara to Portland or Seattle on board Amtrak’s Coast Starlight.

The free festival will feature environmentally friendly exhibitors, live music, children’s activities, and organic food vendors. To learn how to arrive at Santa Barbara Earth Day car free, visit SantaBarbaraCarFree.org/ Earth Day. For more information about the Earth Day Festival, visit Santa Barbara Earth Day.  Festival attendees arriving by train can also take advantage of the Pacific Surfliner Transit Transfer Program to catch a free ride on the Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District’s electric shuttle between the train station and Alameda Park, simply by showing their valid Amtrak ticket to the shuttle driver.

The Pacific Surfliner is funded by the state of California through the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and is operated by Amtrak under a contract with the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency.

All Pacific Surfliner trains feature comfortable, reclining seats with power outlets, Wi-Fi, bike and luggage racks, and access to a Café car featuring fresh food, snacks and beverages, including wine, cocktails and local craft beer.  Passengers can also choose to upgrade to Business Class for an additional fee to receive a guaranteed seat, additional legroom, complimentary snacks and beverages, and other perks.
