We encourage all of our passengers to sign up for our e-notification system. It provides timely notification of train delays, service modifications for holidays, and service changes for incliment weather. Go to www.mtamarylandalerts.com to sign up. Please note that once you complete the first step of the sign-up process, you will receieve a confirmation email. You will need to go back into the system to complete the registration process.

Maryland MTA website:

Winter Weather Advisory

Current forecasts show we are expecting a wintery mix beginning at around 6pm tonight with snow moving in late this evening. Snow is expected to continue into the morning leaving an accumulation of 6-8 inches.

We ask that our customers be cautious of slippery conditions and black ice while making their way to stops and stations this evening and tomorrow morning.

MTA will be prepped and ready to tackle the icy roads, and frigid temperatures by gearing up to activate their transit modes’ individual ice removal plans:

Bus Operations Control Center is monitoring lines for problem areas and working to resolve any vehicle issues on the street.

Metro crews are keeping stations and bus loops clear.

Light Rail has ice trains operating throughout the night to keep the tracks clear.

Stations and platforms have been salted and cleared.

If we have diversions or delays due to a winter weather event, we will provide updates throughout the storm and we thank you for choosing MTA.

MARC email, 3/3 7:45 pm:

Full service on all three lines tomorrow, please be EXTRA careful getting to/from your train

MARC Train will operate full service on all three lines on Tuesday, March 4. Minor delays are possible due to the continued extremely cold temperatures.

We encourage our passengers to follow our safety guidelines for weather like this:

--Please allow not only extra time for your commute on MARC tomorrow, but most importantly, extra time to drive or walk to your station.

--Roads and sidewalks will be extremely slick, especially any standing water that re-freezes overnight. Please walk, do not run, from your car to the train.

--We strongly recommend wearing appropriate footwear tomorrow. Men's dress shoes and women's heels are not conducive to this level of cold and slick conditions.

--Also, please dress in layers and protect all exposed skin. This is especially important in and around your face and head.

Any delays or service issues for tomorrow morning will be posted on our website at www.mta.maryland.gov , on our Twitter feed @mtamaryland and sent by E-mail alert message. You can always check on the current status and location of your train on the MARC Tracker website, www.marctracker.com .

Thank you for riding MARC Train and, again, please be extra careful tomorrow morning.
