In other Philadelphia area rail-related news, the city may recycle the abandoned Reading Company railroad viaduct that once brought intercity passenger trains and electric multiple-unit [eMU] commuter cars into Reading Terminal facing on Market Street in Center City. The viaduct may be reused as a public park similar to the High Line on Manhattan's west side. The "plan philly" site updates the project in a story posted by "philly dot com." The viaduct was abandoned when Philadelphia SEPTA opened its Center City Commuter Tunnel linking the former Pennsylvania Railroad and Reading Company commuter rail lines:
