The actual times for the itinerary have been filled in for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Amtrak didn't keep on schedule at all, but UTA's TRAX & S-Line did (in fact perfectly). The only anomaly on Monday was the fact that I allotted 2 hours for dinner, but we got done earlier thus taking an earlier trip away from the Trolley station near Trolley Square. I also removed the last segment from Courthouse to Central Station since nobody went back to Central Station. Some walked back to their hotels from Courthouse, and others did switch to another train there to hotels along the route.

The actual times in our itinerary are now up to date as of our arrival in Denver.

Most importantly to all those involved in the Fest in Denver: Unlike Salt Lake City, we intend to follow the original itinerary as published since we have one full day in town and didn't arrive in the wee hours. However, except for those who will join us later in the day, we must plan to meet in the main Denver Union Station at 7:45 AM to ensure we can all make it over the light rail platform (2 blocks away either by surface or through underground bus terminal) before the scheduled first departure at 8:13 AM. If you will be storing your luggage with Amtrak please allow more time for that before the meet time, so we can begin walking. Many will need to purchase their day passes from vending machines on the light rail platform. I've sent text message to all in Denver as well.

The blocks in Denver are much shorter than they were in Salt Lake City, and the walk on the surface involves crossing 2 streets. I will check out the underground route in the morning to see if that is any better, and whether there are escalators or elevators if stairs are an impediment. Being a brand new facility I am sure it has modern amenities.

The underground bus terminal has escalators and elevators at the Great Hall end, and I would assume at the light rail end as well. It's a nice facility.

Escalators are nicer when they are in operation. In the morning they were unfortunately shut down. But they were running again by afternoon.

A few didn't make it to the starting point, choosing to join us later in our travels. I was a bit late too having misjudged how long it would take to walk from my hotel to the light rail station and then how long it would take to figure out the ticket situation. Although I got to Union Station after the previously prescribed 7:45 AM myself, I was able to fairly quickly have my luggage stored and get back to the light rail platform before our scheduled 8:13 AM departure.

I've described our time in Denver in another thread, but will report here that the itinerary now has been updated through our day in Denver and departure from there Friday evening.

That leaves just one more item to fill in, our eventual arrival back in Chicago sometime Saturday afternoon.
