Skeptical crowd questions light rail

 

Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley (D-Glendale) has been working on a proposal to restore passenger train service to the Long Island Rail Road’s Lower Montauk branch for the better part of a year, and Tuesday’s information session and workshop in Glendale represented the first real chance for the public to weigh in.

LIC/Jamaica Light Rail Study Has Residents Concerned

 

The city Department of Transportation and engineering firm AECOM presented preliminary findings on a potential 8.5-mile light rail from Jamaica to Long Island City, which could be in service by 2025.
