It has always been, and will always be, July 10, 1975 in Ralph S. DeBlasi’s basement.

The basement, which DeBlasi of Camden County refers to as his “time machine,” is home to his prototype model railroad depicting the Lehigh Valley Railroad line in the mountains outside of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.  The tiny track snakes through the room, past green mountains and over a shimmering river, under the sunny glow of bright, electric bulbs.

DeBlasi is a member of National Model Railroad Association. The New Jersey division of the organization will be hosting the Delaware Valley Turn Mid-Eastern Region Fall Convention on Oct. 22-25.
