From the Boston Globe, 5/13/05:

Medford, Somerville differ on T plan

From Somerville, MA Journal, 5/19/05:

Next stop, Somerville!

You asked for it Somerville, and you're going to get it.

State transportation officials are recommending the extension of Green Line train service through Somerville and onto Medford, and a Green Line branch that will run into Union Square.

Here is this one.

From Boston, MA Globe, 2/4/09:

State backs Green Line extension into Medford

MEDFORD - Clean-air activists praised state officials yesterday afternoon for endorsing a plan to expand the MBTA's Green Line into Medford, saying it would boost ridership and decrease the number of cars clogging the region's highways.

Boston guys, is the caption under the photo in the above article correct?

The extension of the Green Line into Medford would follow the existing right-of-way along the commuter rail's Fitchburg Line.

I thought it would run next to the Lowell Line, not the Fitchburg Line.

It is the Lowell line although there is the possibility of a spur up the Fitchburg line.
