  O-Train Trillium Line closes this week  

 

 

The north-south line will close at the end of service on Saturday, May 2, to allow construction for Phase 2 of light rail.

    Mayor and rail director say they're confident the extended Trillium Line will not share the problems of LRT Stage 1  

 

 

As the next phase of the defining transit project of his mayoral career comes together, Mayor Jim Watson shared his “great confidence” that the O-Train south extension “will not see the kind of challenges we’ve seen in the first stage of the Confederation Line.”

Ottawa's light-rail transit system is now rolling to the Ottawa International Airport, as construction continues on the new north-south system.

 

OC Transpo shared a video of a refurbished Alstom LINT train testing on the Airport Link for the new Trillium Line.

    OC Transpo expects to know in September when Line 2 LRT might launch    

 

There is still no firm date for the launch of the southern extension of the O-Train Line 2.

 

The Trillium Line is being extended to Riverside South with a spur to the airport. Opening dates for the line have been repeatedly pushed back because of construction delays. It was initially scheduled to be open in 2022, but is now expected sometime this year.
