To those who attend our fests vicariously:

As always we had a wonderful time together. I know that new friendships were made and that some participants did some riding together apart from the official fest events.

The weather held out for us. It was rainy on Sunday, but not to a degree that it bothered us, especially the only place we had to walk a distance, which was in White Plains. The temperature was perfect considering it's January, and considering that the next weekend will be far colder in the area than this one was.

We had a total of 8 people on Friday for the short evening run on the Lower Montauk Branch, most of whom got together for dinner at Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City. On Saturday the 13th, our total was 13 people, all of whom stayed together the entire day from our meeting point at Herald Square (PATH 33rd Street) to dinner at Famous Ray's Pizza in Greenwich Village.

And on Sunday the 14th, our total was 14 people.... that peak remained from White Plains going north towards Wassaic until we got back to White Plains going south. One continued on the same train to New York, while 13 of us went to lunch at the Galleria at White Plains, however this is where we got fragmented. Of the 13, I now believe that three went on the 2:59 express train back to Grand Central (the one scheduled in the most recent itinerary), three went on the 3:08 local, six took the 3:59 express to Grand Central, and one took the 4:08 local to Fordham. (So it took FIVE trains to get our entire group back from White Plains!) Four of us who took the 3:59 express remained together on the subways back to Penn Station.

The official home page has now been updated in the past tense.

The links shaded in dark red on the homepage point to reality: There's the Actual Itinerary, the exact departure and arrival times at each endpoint or transfer point. In addition, the Actual list of participants reflects exactly who was involved on each of the three days.

And now, the Fest Scorecard page has been updated. This shows what route segments we have accomplished as a group. The pages have been changed for MTA NYCT, MTA LIRR, and MTA MNRR.

In the case of the subways, since many routes are interlined, we may not have ridden those routes per se but have covered their trackage on a different route. An example of this might be the B line, which runs on weekdays only, but which we have fully covered at this past fest and others in the last 6 years by riding the D and F lines in their entirety on Saturdays, as well as the B's unique portion in Brooklyn.

As for the obligatory discussions we had in person regarding future fests, I will cover that separately.
