Overhead wire problem disrupts service on MBTA Blue Line during Friday morning commute
BOSTON —
Riders on the MBTA Blue Line were forced to switch to shuttle buses for a portion of the morning ride Friday, because of an overhead wire problem in an area that was closed for repair just last month.
MBTA officials said the shuttle buses temporarily replaced train service between Suffolk Downs and Maverick due to an overhead wire problem near Airport Station. Silver Line 3 from Airport was also offered as an alternative for inbound service and officials said the East Boston Ferry is running for free between Lewis Mall Wharf & Long Wharf.
