NEW YORK — A woman who told police she shoved a man to his death off a subway platform into the path of a train because she hates Muslims and thought he was one was charged Saturday with murder as a hate crime, prosecutors said.

Suspect in Queens Subway Death Arrested Before
The family of a woman accused of shoving a man to his death in front of a subway train called police several times in the past five years because she had not been taking prescribed medication and she was difficult to deal with, authorities said Monday.

NEW YORK (AP) - A disturbed woman accused of shoving a man in front of a New York City subway train to his death last month says she did it because she was having a bad day.
Erika Menendez spoke to The New York Post ( http://bit.ly/U8e2xz) on Friday at the city jail where she is awaiting trial in the killing.

Woman Convicted of Pushing Man to His Death in Front of 7 Train Gets 24 Years in Prison
A woman convicted of pushing a man to his death in front of a 7 train in Queens has been sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Erika Menendez, 33, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in March. She shoved 46-year-old Sunnando Sen in front of a train entering the 40th Street-Lowery Street station in December 2012.
