Semi hit by train in Orange Park, $300K McLaren wrecked

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — 

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a train crash at Doctor’s Lake Drive at Greenridge Road in Orange Park Friday morning.

A man’s tractor trailer stalled on the train tracks, according to Florida Highway Patrol. He got out of his truck in time to avoid getting hit by the train.

The train plowed through his truck. No one was injured in the crash, authorities say.

The mini tractor trailer was carrying a $300,ooo McLaren. It was damaged in the crash. Action News reporter Russell Colburn spoke to the car owner, Dr. Jorg Bober. 

The southbound Silver Star and Silver Meteor were delayed as a result of this accident.

Driver was hauling an exotic McLaren sports car

 

ORANGE PARK | A CSX freight train smashed into a semi hauling an exotic McLaren sports car Friday after the driver told a Clay County 911 operator he heard the approaching train’s blaring horn and jumped out just in time.

 

The horn of the train can be heard on the frantic emergency call made about 8 a.m. from a rail crossing on Greenridge Road near Doctors Lake Road. The dispatcher didn’t immediately know the driver had jumped.

 

“Sir, get out of your truck,” the dispatcher said.
