Amtrak secures $64 million grant for Texas high-speed rail project; possible depot in Brazos Valley
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Amtrak has been awarded a $64 million federal grant to continue planning the Texas high-speed rail line, a project intended to connect Houston and Dallas within 90 minutes, potentially with a stop in the Brazos Valley.
The funding is part of a broader $153 million initiative from the US Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration, created under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to revitalize intercity passenger rail service across the nation.
