General Announcement:
With inclement weather today, use caution during your SEPTA travels as platforms, parking lots and vehicles may be slippery. SEPTA customers are required to wear a face mask or covering on vehicles and in stations as the TSA has extended its mandate for passengers through January 18. The 16th & JFK doors at Suburban Station will be open during the following hours: 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (Monday-Friday only). The Market Street entrance doors to Jefferson Station (through the Reading Headhouse) will be open during the following hours: 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. (Monday-Friday only). The 12th & Filbert doors at Jefferson Station will be open during the following hours: 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (Monday-Friday only). During all other hours these doors will be locked. The 10th & Filbert doors are open 7 days a week during the service day. The waiting areas and restrooms at outlying Regional Rail stations offering SEPTA Key sales are open during sales window hours. At all other times, the station office facilities will be closed.
Bus:
Routes 37, 47, 67, 68, 7, 75, 79, G : Service is operating with delays due to an operator shortage.
Trolley:
Route 102 : Shuttle buses are operating from McDade Boulevard to Sharon Hill in both directions due to flooding conditions.
Regional Rail:
Warminster : Service has been suspended from Willow Grove to Warminster Stations in both directions for the remainder of the service day on Wednesday, September 1 due to excessive weather related flooding. We anticipate full operations to be restored by start of service on Thursday, September 2.
Cynwyd : Service is suspended, however, limited weekday service will be restored on Tuesday, September 7 operating with new schedules that are effective on Sunday, September 5.
Manayunk/Norristown : Service is temporarily suspended from Miquon to Elm Street Stations in both directions for the remainder of the day Wednesday, Saturday 1. We anticipate full operations to be restored by start of service on Thursday, September 2.
Paoli/Thorndale : Service is temporarily suspended from Paoli to Thorndale Stations due to weather related flooding conditions in both directions for the remainder of the day Wednesday, Saturday 1. We anticipate full operations to be restored by start of service on Thursday, September 2.
Lansdale/Doylestown : Service will remain suspended from Lansdale to Doylestown Stations in both directions for the remainder of the service day on Wednesday, September 1 due to power issues. We anticipate full operations to be restored by start of service on Thursday, September 2.
Norristown High Speed Line:
Norristown High Speed Line : Service is suspended in both directions from Hughes Park to Norristown Transportation Center for the remainder of the service day on Wednesday, September 1 due to flooding conditions. We anticipate full operations to be restored by start of service on Thursday, September 2.

Route 38 : Service is originating/terminating at Conshohocken & Monument Road. No Wissahickon TC.
Routes K, R : Service is originating/terminating at Henry & Midvale.
Route 93 : Service is originating/terminating at Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
Route 130 : Service is originating/terminating at Newtown Square Shopping Center.
Route 61 : Service is originating/terminating at Ridge & Allegheny.
Routes 124, 125 : Service is suspended until further notice due to weather-related conditions.
Routes 139, 35, 94, 95, 99 : Service is suspended until further notice.
Regional Rail:
Paoli/Thorndale : Service is suspended between Malvern and Thorndale until further notice.
Cynwyd : Service is suspended, however, limited weekday service will be restored on Tuesday, September 7 operating with new schedules that are effective on Sunday, September 5.
Warminster : Service remains suspended between Willow Grove and Warminster until further notice.

Airport : Trains #9427 and #428 are canceled between the Airport and Center City.
Broad Street Line:
Broad Street Line : Service is operating with residual delays due to earlier equipment problems. One train will operate express from Fern Rock TC to Erie Station due to a line adjustment.
Norristown High Speed Line:
Norristown High Speed Line : Service is terminating/originating at Gulph Mills Station due to weather-related conditions.

Why Philadelphia's SEPTA subways didn't flood when New York City's did

 

 

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — With the deluge of water that swamped Philadelphia and created a canal out of the Vine Expressway, you might wonder why our subways didn’t flood like some in New York City did.

 

It’s primarily a matter of prevention, according to SEPTA.

 

“The first thing is to try to catch the water before it gets into our system,” SEPTA deputy general manager Bob Lund told KYW Newsradio.

 

“It’s the surface runoff on all the sidewalks, streets, paved areas, how that is handled, and trying to make sure that it doesn’t get into our entrances.”

    Three streets/railroad crossings in Conshohocken to close for six weeks for repairs  

 

 

The Borough of Conshohocken has announced that it will be necessary to close portions of three streets leading to railroad crossings in Conshohocken to allow for repairs and the operation of SEPTA’s Regional Rail to the Conshohocken Train Station. All of the crossings in Conshohocken sustained substantial damage.

Four SEPTA regional rail stations reopen ahead of schedule after repairs from Ida flooding

 

 

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Four SEPTA stations along the Manayunk/Norristown Line reopened on Monday. They were closed for nearly two weeks because of flood damage.

 

The four stations — Conshohocken, Norristown Transportation Center, Main Street and Elm Street — opened in both directions in time for the Monday morning commute.
