From O Scale Trolley Modelers:

Three former El Paso City Lines PCCs, bought secondhand from San Diego, will be shipped from El Paso in west Texas to the Brookville Equipment Corp. plant this week, with cranes lifting the cars onto flatbed truck trailers Thursday for the highway journey, the El Paso Inc. site reports. The city of El Paso wants six of the surviving PCCs rehabilitated for heritage car line service on a planned new route from just north of the Mexican border, through downtown and northwest to the University of Texas-El Paso campus. The 4.8=mile line will be built with $97 million in state funds.df06302014c.jpg

Three of El Paso’s vintage streetcars are scheduled to hit the road this week, as they are trucked to Pennsylvania for a complete remanufacturing. They’ve been stored in the desert near El Paso International Airport

EL PASO Herald Post reports that the heritage streetcar line planned in the west Texas city will begin construction Jan. 4, 2016. The car line will use six ex-El Paso City Lines (National City Lines subsidiary) PCCs inherited by the city of El Paso and now sent to Brookville Equipment Corp. in western Pennsylvania for rehabilitation. The 4.8 mile, $97 million streetcar line from just north of the Mexican border with Juarez through downtown and to the University of Texas-El Paso campus will be constructed by the Granite Construction - RailWorks consortium, the same group that built the Tucson, Ariz., 3.9 mile modern streetcar line.
