Northeast Regional and Carolinian Service Boarding Changes at Quantico, VA and Possible Train Delays



Starting May 30, 2016

Starting May 30, construction will begin to renovate the Quantico Amtrak station. The first part of this project calls for the west platform and building to be demolished and removed. This work is expected to be complete in approximately one year. During this period, please note the following:

Quantico Passengers Board All Trains at Track 2 East Platform

The Track 3 West Platform at Quantico will be out of service for the duration of this project. Passengers will board all trains at the Track 2 East Platform. Passengers should allow a few extra minutes to use the pedestrian crossing to access the Track 2 East Platform.

Possible Delays Traveling through Quantico

Due to the Track 3 platform being out of service, trains operating through Quantico, can encounter delays of approximately 30 minutes. Passengers are encouraged to check their trains' status on http://Amtrak.com/, our free mobile apps, or at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245). You can also sign up for text and email delay notifications when booking your reservations.

Quantico Station Safety Reminders

* The safety of our passengers and employees is our top priority. Please avoid the construction area whenever possible.

* Be careful if you must walk near the construction zone.

* Stay at a safe distance from machinery and moving construction equipment.

* Watch out for any tripping hazards, such as construction debris or uneven surfaces.

Amtrak  Service Alert:

 

Northeast Regional Trains 65, 67, 94 and 96 and Carolinian Trains 79 and 80 Will Not Stop at Quantico 

 

Effective August 8 - 13, 2016

 

Construction is underway to renovate the Quantico Amtrak station. In this phase of the project, the Track 3 West platform will be demolished, affecting service at the Quantico station from August 8 - 13, 2016.

 

Trains 65, 67, 79, 80, 94 and 96 Will Not Stop at Quantico

To accommodate this work and avoid excessive delays, the trains listed above will not stop at Quantico. Passengers can instead use the Fredericksburg station located approximately 20 miles from Quantico.

 

Board All Trains at Track 2 East Platform

The Track 3 West platform will be out of service for from Aug. 8-13. Passengers will board all trains at the Track 2 East platform.
