WMATA news release:
Metro prepares for this weekend's winter storm
Metro is preparing for the first winter storm of 2016, which is expected to blanket the region with a foot or more of snow from Friday afternoon through Saturday night.
Decisions regarding service levels have not yet been finalized; however, service changes are likely. Metro is monitoring the forecast and announcements are expected Thursday afternoon. Metro's priority is ensuring the safety of our customers and employees, and ensuring that the system can return to normal service as quickly as possible.
During any storm, you should travel only if absolutely necessary. Become familiar with Metro snow-related service information at wmata.com/snow.
