Cascades

• Trains 503, 505, 509 & 511 are cancelled with alternate transportation between Seattle and Portland
• Trains 504, 506, & 508 are canceled with alternate transportation between Portland and Seattle
• Train 517 will terminate in Seattle. Alternate transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland
• Train 518 will originate in Portland. Alternate transportation will be provided between Portland and Seattle

Coast Starlight

• Train 11 which is scheduled to depart Seattle (SEA) 1/24 will now originate out of Portland (PDX). Alternate transportation will be between Seattle (SEA) and Portland (PDX). 
• Train 14 which departed Los Angeles (LAX) on 1/23 will now terminate in Portland (PDX). Alternate transportation will be provided between Portland (PDX) and Seattle (SEA). 

Customers with reservations on trains that are being modified will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day. Amtrak will waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 1-800-USA-RAIL.

Train service between the cities will resume once BNSF lifts the travel moratorium, tentatively set for 8:30 a.m. Friday, January 26.

Amtrak is currently working to source buses as replacement transportation.

Due to a landslide caused by previous weather events, host rail road BNSF has implemented a 48-hour moratorium between Portland and Seattle. Normal operations are expected to resume Sunday morning.
