Day One in Salt Lake City was successful. We accomplished everything to the minute in our late-amended itinerary. Our day really began by finishing up the Amtrak trip that should have ended last night.
TRAX and S-Line, at least for us, ran right on schedule, and we found the connections between various lines to be perfectly timed. Despite temperatures around 100 degrees, we did have a great time on the rails. The day was topped off by dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square.
One thing about UTA -- we took advantage of the 4-for-$15 group pass, and it was interesting trying to figure out who was in what group. However we did not cross paths with even one fare inspector all day.
Day Two will be our FrontRunner day, in addition to the TRAX Green Line to the airport & back that was cut from today's activities.

Day Two is underway, as the 10 of us are aboard FrontRunner going south from Salt Lake City to Provo. If UTA runs FrontRunner as efficiently as they did TRAX & S-Line for us, we should have a decent day.
Unfortunately we have the elephant in the room hanging over us, not knowing when our Amtrak train to Reno will show up tonight (really sometime in the wee hours of Wednesday), and whether it will be safe to board it since we had a scheduled 7-1/2 hour turnaround to the eastbound train. The latter could also be late, which might ensure we make the scheduled train but puts us into Denver vey late on Thursday night.

Day 2 in Salt Lake is complete. Our first FrontRunner round trip to Provo was right on time. The second one was just a few minutes late in both directions. We also aced the TRAX system by doing the Green Line from North Temple Bridge to the airport and back downtown.
In between we ate at various restaurants at the Gateway complex. Dinner we also split up to various locations.
Amtrak is well, Amtrak, and we are expecting to leave town the way we arrived, in the neighborhood of 4 AM.
