Interesting side story to the above is that 3(15) actually left Chicago, made its stop in Naperville, and then got stuck somewhere before it was ultimately cancelled.    5(15) might have had the same fate, were it not for the "mechanical issues" specified above that kept it in Chicago before the No Go decision was made.

The bad thing is that 6(13) is out there running over 5 hours late and headed eastbound for Chicago; at the time of this writing it last reported at Galesburg.    4(13) was previously cancelled in its entirety (though not announced) presumably by the previous storm Tabitha.

And now they have updated the alert for 5(15).  No longer cancelled in its entirety, it is now still running west of Salt Lake City.  My guess is that there is a set of equipment from an earlier version of #6 that terminated in SLC hence the equipment to use.

Correction: Due to severe weather conditions, California Zephyr Train 5 scheduled to depart Chicago (CHI) on 2/15 is now canceled between CHI and Salt Lake City (SLC). No alternate transportation between CHI and SLC will be provided.
