From Amtrak website 6/5/20:

Amtrak Trains to and From New Orleans Affected by Tropical Storm Forecast

June 05, 2020 4:00 PM

Sunset Limited, Crescent, City of New Orleans services affected

The forecasted landfall of Tropical Storm Cristobal has led Amtrak to temporarily suspend service to and from New Orleans for the next few days. No substitute transportation is available to and from New Orleans for these Amtrak services.

Sunset Limited:

•              Train 2 scheduled to originate in Los Angeles on June 5 will terminate in San Antonio instead of New Orleans.

•              Train 1 scheduled to originate in New Orleans on June 8 will instead originate in San Antonio on June 9.

Crescent:

•              Train 19 scheduled to originate in New York City on June 6 & 7 will terminate in Atlanta instead of New Orleans.

•              Train 20 scheduled to originate in New Orleans on June 7 & 8 will instead originate in Atlanta.

City of New Orleans

•              Train 59 scheduled to originate in Chicago on June 6 & 7 will not operate.

•              Train 58 scheduled to originate in New Orleans on June 7 & 8 will not operate.

Those customers along Train 58 & 59’s route in Illinois have the option of traveling

instead on Trains 390 & 393 between Carbondale and Chicago while City of New Orleans service is temporarily suspended.

Anyone planning to travel should check their train status on Amtrak.com or our smartphone apps prior to departing, allow extra time to get to the station and be extremely careful in stations and on platforms.

Customers with reservations on trains that are being modified will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day. Amtrak will gladly waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 800-USA-RAIL.

Anyone can subscribe to automated email or text message notifications if Amtrak trains are behind schedule at specific stations. Notifications can be given for up to six trains and stations by either text or email and delivered when you choose - on a single day, every day, or just certain days of the week.
