National Association of Railroad Passengers (NARP), newsletter for June 2012:

In this issue, a great write-up on the history of the Downeaster (including events leading up to the past 10+ years of operation), and plans for the future - namely the upcoming expansion later this year to Freeport and Brunswick.

New maintenance bases in Hialeah, FL and Los Angeles, CA are now open. They provide more space and an overall better work environment. Later this year another new maintanance facility will open in Seattle.

Battle Creek, MI had its intermodal station completely rebuilt. It also received a new entrance, a lobby with vending area, and a new long term parking lot.

No Travelers' Advisory this month.
