Forecasted Severe Weather May Impact Today's Service.

 

The latest forecast predicts severe weather during this evening’s commute, which could lead to service disruptions. Severe weather can result in speed restrictions (Flash Flood, Wind, etc.) along the route that CSX, NS or Amtrak may deem necessary to issue. Downed trees are also a possibility, which may result in lengthier delays. Please use caution when making your way to the station and traversing the parking lots and platforms. VRE will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates if service is affected. Stay tuned to Train Talk Alerts and VRE.org in case we foresee any impacts on tomorrow’s service.

VIRGINIA RAILWAY EXPRESS (VRE)

 

 

The lights are currently out on the platform at the Franconia-Springfield Station due to a partial power outage. The elevators also are likely out of service. We have notified Dominion Power of the issue.

Virginia Railway Express (VRE)

 

The lights are back on at the Franconia-Springfield Station. The elevators are currently out of service, but we expect that they will be operating prior to tomorrow morning's service.

No anticipated delays to VRE morning service

 

We do not anticipate any issues on today's morning service as a result of yesterday's storms.
