1. Pasadena to Azusa Update

 

The Foothill Gold Line from Pasadena to Azusa is now 95% complete and on schedule to be turned over to Metro in late-September 2015. The majority of the remaining work is focused on completing the stations and station parking facilities and continuing live wire train testing throughout the corridor.

Train testing, which began in December 2014, is currently 50% complete and will continue through September. Testing has been conducted on the alignment from Pasadena to Irwindale and will expand to Azusa this month.

With the six stations nearing substantial completion, the station artwork is now being installed. Dedications for the stations are being set in coordination with the cities and will be taking place in the months of August and September. More details to follow soon.

Gold Line Extension So Purdy Drivers May Break Up With the 210

 

The Foothill Gold Line extension from Pasadena to Azusa is in the testing phase and now 95 percent complete, according to construction officials. When it opens, hopefully in winter 2016, commuters will be able to travel all the way from East L.A. through DTLA, Pasadena, and onto the San Gabriel Valley.

Art tiles created by Monrovia station artist Cha-Rie Tang were installed recently in the parking structure’s ground floor elevator lobby. Similar tiles will soon be placed along the ramps leading up the station platforms.

Glass art panels were installed onto the Ticket Vending Machine canopy at the APU/Citrus College station this week. Station artist Lynn Goodpasture (pictured) based the design on the California palms that line Palm Drive near the station.

A test train travels across the 700-foot San Gabriel River Bridge toward Azusa. Testing began in Irwindale and Azusa in late June and will continue through early August.
