Amtrak Service Advisory:
Philadelphia Travel Information During Democratic National ConventionEffective July 25 - 28, 2016
The Democratic National Convention is being held in Philadelphia. While the Amtrak station is not located in the immediate area of the convention activities, there are a few things you should know if you are planning to travel to or from Philadelphia 30th St. Station from July 25-28.
Allow Extra Time
Passengers should allow extra time to arrive at the station due to street closures and detours. For the most current information about street closures, events and security, visit the Democratic National Convention website.
Heightened Security
Increased security measures will be in place during this period. Adult travelers should be prepared to present valid photo ID upon request when traveling on Amtrak. Amtrak Police will have an increased presence in Philadelphia at this time, working closely with other agencies. As always, we encourage reports of crime, emergencies, suspicious items, persons or activity immediately to the Amtrak Police Department at 800-331-0008 or by sending a text to APD11 from a smartphone or to 27311 from a standard cell phone, or by calling 911.
