Philly Voice, 12/21/23:
SEPTA's 30th Street subway station to be renamed after Drexel University
SEPTA's 30th Street Station is not only receiving a new look – it's also getting a new name.
To be clear, the Amtrak station and the SEPTA Regional Rail station will still be William H. Gray III 30th Street Station. This rebranding applies to the MFL (future L line) and trolley (future T lines) subway stations under Market Street. So now you'll have to take the subway to Drexel Station at 30th Street if you want to go to William H. Gray III 30th Street Station. Time will tell if novice transit riders or visitors miss the correct station stop because they were confused about the station names. It might at least be helpful to include William H. Gray III 30th Street Station in the on-board trolley and subway announcements while approaching Drexel Station at 30th Street. You got all that?
