   NFTA to temporarily shut down above ground rail service  

 

 

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority will shut down their above-ground Metro Rail service for construction starting Tuesday, May 28, officials announced Thursday. The shutdown will continue through Sunday, June 2.

NFTA announces pause in above-ground Metro Rail service

 

The suspension will help the NFTA address crucial track bed, catenary, and electrical system upgrades aimed at enhancing the safety and reliability.

 

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A construction project will shut down above-ground Metro Rail service between Monday and Thursday this week.

 

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority said the move will help it address crucial track bed, catenary, and electrical system upgrades to enhance both safety and reliability.

 

Shuttles will be provided every 20 minutes between the Allen Medical Campus and the Canalside station.
