MARC Brunswick line - the "commute from ..............."

MARC Brunswick Line had a "rough" 1st day back after the CSX derailment.

 

The Amtrak trespasser incident (see:  Capitol Limited (29) vs man in Rockville, MD) also disrupted MARC:

 

4:40 pm

Temporary Brunswick Line Service Disruption

 

Due to police activity near Garrett Park station, MARC 875 will hold temporarily at Silver Spring Station and all later westbound Brunswick trains will be temporarily held in Washington until the situation has been resolved.  Further updates will be issued as more information is received.

Temporary Brunswick Line Service Disruption:  Update 1

 

At this time it has been confirmed that a person was struck by a train near Garrett Park station and that extended delays are expected.  The Washington Metrorail remains open and may be utilized by all passengers holding a Brunswick Line ticket.  More updates will follow as additional information is received.

Temporary Brunswick Line Service Disruption:  Update 2

 

The Brunswick Line remains in a temporary service disruption due to a person having been struck by a train near Garrett Park Station. The Washington Metrorail remains open and may be utilized by all passengers holding a Brunswick Line ticket. More updates will follow as additional information is received.

Temporary Brunswick Line Service Disruption:  Update 3

 

At this time MARC 875 is departing Silver Spring Station and will operate at a restricted speed to Martinsburg.  All evening Brunswick Line trains holding in Washington will be gradually released to operated at restricted speeds, until all trains have resumed normal service. Please expect continued delays as the railroad is reopened, Washington Metrorail remains available as an option for Brunswick Line commuters.

Brunswick Line Downed Trees

 

MARC 875 has reported downed trees blocking the tracks near Garrett Park and is currently holding behind an Amtrak while the tracks are cleared.  This will require another temporary service disruption, as crews respond to the situation.  All trains will hold in place until further notice, more information will be released as it is received.

Brunswick Line Downed Trees:  Update 1

Due to downed trees blocking the tracks near Garrett Park, MARC 875 is currently holding behind an Amtrak while the tracks are cleared. MARC 877 is holding at Silver Spring Station and MARC 892 is holding in Washington. All other Brunswick Line trains will hold in Union Station until further notice, more information will be released as it is received.

 

 

7:21 pm

Brunswick Line Downed Trees:  Update 2

 

At this time crews have completed clearing the trees fouling the tracks at Garrett Park and the Brunswick Line will again resume full service.  MARC 875 is currently approaching Washington Grove, MARC 877 is at Garrett Park and MARC 879 is at Silver Spring Station.  MARC 881 is currently departing Union Station and all other Brunswick Line trains will be released in order until all trains have resumed normal service.  Please expect continued delays as the railroad is reopened, Washington Metrorail remains available as an option for Brunswick Line commuters.
