Read this story here.SCRAPPING trams in Sydney was a big mistake that had left the city with "traffic sewers", an urban transport expert said today.
Trams would make Australia's biggest city more livable, dignified and green by reducing traffic, cutting pollution and increasing public spaces, Associate Professor Jeff Kenworthy of the Institute for Sustainability and Technology Policy at Perth's Murdoch University said.
He was addressing a light rail forum hosted by Sydney City Council.
