    Hamilton planning new Amtrak stations, including possibly near the relocated CSX depot    

 

 

Hamilton officials, hoping to win train stations along two Amtrak routes, are planning to build station platforms in two likely places — in Symmes Park, south of downtown; and along Maple Avenue, near where the city plans to move the historic Cincinnati, Hamilton & Dayton Railroad station this spring.

  Hamilton’s vice mayor hopeful local students will write to Ohio leaders about Amtrak stops    

 

 

Hamilton Vice Mayor Michael Ryan, who in November announced the city was working “full steam ahead” to win train stations on two Amtrak routes, recently told the Hamilton Board of Education he hopes city students will join the effort to lobby Gov. Mike DeWine and local lawmakers on the matter.

Hamilton, Ohio, station move appears set for December

Structure dating to 1850s will be relocated by about 1,000 feet

HAMILTON, Ohio — The two structures of Hamilton’s historic railroad station will move in December, the Hamilton Journal-News reports.

 

City Engineer Rich Engle said Wolfe House & Building Movers had scheduled an early December move, with a more detailed schedule still to come.

 

The two structures — a one-story and two-story building — will be moved about 1,000 feet from their current trackside location to prepared foundations at the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Maple Avenue. The moving company and LRT Restoration are slated to handle the brickwork to connect the structures to the new foundations.
