Rail Passenger Association of California (RailPAC), newsletter for March/April 2012:

RailPAC is still campaigning for run-through tracks at Los Angeles Union Station This would make it easier for Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains to serve Union Station without the need for operators to change ends. It would also help capacity by permitting Metrolink commuter trains to enter and leave Union Station in different directions so that a train could go, for example, from San Bernardino to East Ventura.

The organization is also behind the long proposed extension of the California Zephyr overnight along the Shore Line to Los Angeles. This would open up a new market between the Foothills and the Central Coast. They also propose several changes to corridor trains in order to provide better connectivity across the state.
