QUOTE The MBTA is outlining a series of changes to the 39 route from Forest Hills to just before Back Bay it says will mean shorter commutes for riders on the system's second-busiest bus route. Story is here. Of significance to rail interests: * They want to remove trolley poles from the streets * 39 bus is the second busiest bus route Do they really need to improve the bus line all the way to Back Bay, or just as far as its first interlining with the E trolley? That would be Heath Street on weekdays, and soon weekend trolley service will turn at Brigham Circle thanks to the most recent cuts. Or is this a harbinger of more cuts to eventually eliminate what is left of the E line? -------------------- Kevin Korell OTOL Board Leader Howell, NJ |
