Lake Shore Limited Trains 448 and 449 Track Work Affects Service


 


Effective on Select Dates September 15 - 25, 2017

 

Track work being performed by Keolis/MBTA will affect Trains 448 and 449 between Albany and Boston, as follows:


Train 448 Albany - Boston Service

Customers aboard Train 48 who are traveling to Pittsfield, Springfield, Worcester, Framingham, and Boston (South Station) will get off the train at Albany on the dates below. At Albany, bus service will be provided to and from all stations, except Boston Back Bay.

  • Friday, September 15 through Saturday, Sunday, September 17

  • Friday, September 22 through Sunday, September 24


Train 449 Boston - Albany Service

Train 449 will not operate between Boston (South Station) and Albany on the dates below. Passengers boarding at Boston (South Station), Framingham, Worcester, Springfield, Pittsfield will be provided bus service to Albany, where they will transfer to westbound Train 49 to their destination.

  • Saturday, September 16 through Monday, September 18

  • Saturday, September 23 through Monday, September 25


Boston Back Bay Service Cancelled

Trains 448 and 449 will not stop at Boston Back Bay, and bus service will not be provided. Customers can contact MBTA for travel to and from Boston Back Bay.


Boston (South Station) and Framingham
  • Passengers at Boston South Station should go to the Amtrak Information Desk for instructions on boarding the buses.

  • Passengers at Framingham, will board all buses at the drop-off/pick-up area track 2 platform (at Waverly St.)


Worcester Station

The Worcester station is unstaffed. Passengers at Worcester should go downstairs to the intercity bus area and board the bus marked Premier Bus.

Lake Shore Limited Trains 448 and 449: Track Work Affect Service between Albany and Boston on Select Dates

Effective October 1 - 27, 2017

Track work being performed between Albany and Boston will affect Trains 48 and 449, on the dates indicated below:

  Train 448: Sunday through Thursdays
 
October 1 through October 5 and October 8 through October 12
October 15 through October 19 and October 22 through October 26

  Train 449: Mondays through Fridays
 
October 2 through October 6 and October 9 through October 13
October 16 through October 20 and October 23 through October 27

  Train 448 Albany – Boston Service
 
Customers aboard Train 448 who are traveling to Pittsfield, Springfield, Worcester, Framingham, and Boston (South Station) will get off the train at Albany on the Sunday through Thursday dates shown above. At Albany, bus service will be provided to and from all remaining station on the route, except Boston Back Bay.

  Train 449 Boston – Albany Service
 
On the weekdays shown above, Train 449 will not operate between Boston (South Station) and Albany. Customers boarding at Boston (South Station), Framingham, Worcester, Springfield, Pittsfield will be provided bus service to Albany, where they will transfer to westbound Train 49, making all remaining stops on the route.

  Boston Back Bay Service Cancelled
 
During this period, Trains 448 and 449 will not stop at Boston Back Bay, and bus service will not be provided. Customers can take MBTA commuter rail for travel to or from Boston South Station. Train 448 customers can also take the MBTA subway Orange Line to Downtown Crossing and transfer to the Red line to Boston South Station. Train 449 customers can use reverse directions. For questions, contact MBTA.
 
Boston (South Station) and Framingham
  • Customers at Boston South Station should go to the Amtrak Information Desk for instructions on boarding the buses.
  • Customers at Framingham will board all buses at the drop-off/pick-up area at the Track 2 platform (at Waverly Street).
The Worcester station is not staffed. Customers at Worchester can check with station security personnel for the location to board the bus. Bus service is provided by Premier Bus Lines.
