This message from Sound Transit gave me pause:  You'd think the tracks went out to sea on a trestle or something!

All Sounder north line trains will be delayed en route to Seattle due to high winds and high seas causing slow speed orders for all trains.

We are being slammed with freezing temps, snow, and high winds.  An abrupt end to a very mild winter with nary a flake or frosted-over puddle until yesterday and today.

Sound Transit email, 1:27 pm PST 2/4/19:

PM Commute - Winter Weather Advisory

ST Express buses: Sound Transit continue to operate some ST Express buses routes via designated snow routes. Road conditions can change causing reroutes or stop closures with little to no notice. Transit customers are advised to wait for buses at posted bus stops on flat portions of cleared arterials or at major transfer points, such as park-and-ride lots and transit centers where there may be multiple service options.

Sounder Train: The inclement weather poses a challenge for keeping track switches clear of snow and ice for the movements they must make. Riders should anticipate delays on both the north and south line trains. All trains are scheduled to operate. Riders should arrive to the platform for on-time departure.

Link light rail: At this time all Link trains will operate on their regular schedule.

All Services: Riders should monitor the Sound Transit Rider Alerts page for changes and delays to their service prior to their commute.

Riders should also monitor local media outlets or visit @Seattledot or @WSDOT_traffic for information, conditions and street closures.

For service information on Sound Transit’s regional transit partners, visit Metro’s Snow Alerts, King County Water TaxiCommunity TransitPierce TransitSeattle Streetcar, or Washington State Ferries.
