Progressive Railroading, 5/22/17:
Ontario advances Toronto-Windsor high-speed rail line
Ontario is moving forward with preliminary design work for a Toronto-Windsor high-speed rail route, Premier Kathleen Wynne announced late last week.
This story is here.
Ontario is a big province, and hats off to them for doing this. Let's hope it comes to fruition. And when they get to Windsor, there's another city across the river, called Detroit. Maybe just one more stop with some help from Michigan and the US? It would fit well with higher speed rail on the Wolverines corridor. And what about the other corridors from Toronto to Ottawa and Montreal, which I would guess are busier than the one to Windsor? Granted, Montreal is outside of Ontario, but then they would need help from Quebec.
