   Flash flooding washes away ground under MBTA commuter rail tracks in Leominster  

 

 

In addition to washing away roads, opening up sinkholes, and damaging homes and businesses, the flash flooding from Monday’s devastating storm swept away the ground that supports the MBTA commuter rail train tracks that run through Leominster.

     MBTA Commuter Rail tracks compromised by flooding in Leominster  

 

 

Flooding during Monday's deluge washed away the ground from underneath Commuter Rail tracks running through Leominster, Massachusetts, forcing the MBTA to halt train service to part of the Fitchburg Line.

Train service is running through Leominster on Wednesday, one week after flooding washed out the ground beneath the MBTA Commuter Rail tracks.

  Regular Commuter Rail service resumes on Fitchburg Line after repairs following catastrophic Leominster flooding   

 

 

Regular service resumed on the MBTA Commuter Rail’s Fitchburg line Tuesday after repairs due to catastrophic flooding last week.
