TRI-RAIL SUSPENDS SERVICE AS OF THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND
Tri-Rail trains will cease operations Wednesday evening, September 1 until further notice due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Frances. The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority, which operates Tri-Rail, was notified by CSXT late this afternoon that they needed to begin securing the crossing gates at sunrise on Thursday.
"At this point in time it is impossible to predict how long the service suspension will last," said Joe Giulietti, Executive Director. "We hope to resume operations as soon as possible after the storm passes, but that will depend on the amount of damage the corridor sustains."
Passengers are encouraged to monitor local news reports, www.tri-rail.com,
